The Austrian company GlobeAir, the world's largest operator of Cessna Citation Mustang aircraft, has sold 15,000 empty flights to the developer of the mobile application for ordering JetSmarter charters, Flightglobal writes. Experts estimate that the carrier will receive up to $ 50 million over five years.

The agreement will help GlobeAir realize its ambitious fleet expansion plans. The operator expects to add eight Citation Mustangs to its current fleet of 12 aircraft, and by 2020 create a pan-European network of low-cost air taxi services.

The contract also expands JetSmarter's presence in Europe. Earlier this year, the Fort Lauderdale-headquartered company raised $ 20 million in private equity to fund its expansion. JetSmarter currently has offices in Zurich, Switzerland and Moscow, Russia.

JetSmarter was launched in 2014 with the goal of providing travelers with easy, seamless access to business aviation services through a range of specialized applications. The company says the empty hauls of business jets it has purchased will provide its customers with cost-effective rates through its JetDeals service.

“We have a strong and fast growing user base on both sides of the Atlantic,” says Sergey Petrossov, founder and CEO of JetSmarter. He also added that the new partnership with GlobeAir will allow the company to continue to democratize the private jet travel industry and make business jets available to the general public.
