XO's digital on-demand charter platform will make all of its empty legs to NYC available to transport medical equipment and hospital supplies. It is New York City that is currently hardest hit by COVID-19.
“Knowing that New York is the worst-hit city in our country, our goal is to help hospitals and their healthcare providers receive timely medicines, equipment and food from cities across the country,” said Ron Silverman, Commercial Director of XO. Flights will be supported by parent company Vista Global and VistaJet. Vista Global said it will also help with the required permits and paperwork. Since last week, VistaJet has been offering a no-cost empty leg to government agencies and healthcare companies that are involved in the repatriation and medical evacuation of citizens of different countries. The company also takes over the registration of flight permits, the press service of the company reports. In addition to this, the operator's aircraft will be able to carry out a “cargo mission” – the delivery of small medical cargo.
Recall that last summer, Vista Global (VG) holding introduced the global digital marketplace for private aviation XO. It brings together operator XOJet and application developer JetSmarter, which the Dubai-based group acquired to create a global charter offering. “XO is addressing the digital shift in the industry,” VG said in a message, creating a one-stop offering that “customers can immediately choose the best digital membership option, request a flight or book a seat on a business jet.”
